BMW Series-1: A sports car introduced in 2004 with rear wheel drive, weight blance, and multilink suspension. It is the smallest and most economical car right now in the BMW line. The changes brought about in the later versions are the headlight, taillight, bumpers, and interior designs. Start-stop system, power steering, and regeneration of brake energy are among the other improvements. The other models include E82, 128i, and 135i, which offer a wide range of features.

BMW 118d has won the Green Car of the Year award in 2008 for its performance with regard to carbon emission and fuel consumption.
