FAQ

#1 Do I need to create a special account to bid on the auctions?

We are affiliated with eBay, so all you need is an eBay account to bid and buy. This is absolutely free of charge, valid for life, and allows you to use any eBay for all purchases (not just cars). Sign up for an ebay account here. You are able to browse all available auctions even without an account.

#2 Are there hidden fees when buying a car this way?

The actual final auction price is what you will pay for the car through eBay- be sure to carefully read the seller description to see if there are any applicable charges, taxes, etc.

There are however, some fees that are associated with all car purchases such as title transfer and any applicable taxes for your state. There is more information about that in the Guide to Buying Online if you have never purchased a car before.

#3 Do you carry any product or deal with the sellers yourself?

No, our site is a portal that finds and organizes active live auctions on the internet for particular cars in an easy to navigate location that also provides relevant information for the makes and models. We do not ship or carry the product ourselves and the seller does not go through us- but you can contact all sellers directly (see the guide to buying online.)

#4 I am concerned about getting ripped off - how do I know the seller from an online auction is going to deliver the car?

Fortunately the transactions on this site take place through eBay which has its own policies in place. You and the seller enter into a legal contract when you place a winning bid or use the "buy it now" link, and if for some reason they do not seem to be responding, you can use the eBay resolution center. Note however, that if the seller has a high feedback score (see the buying guide if you are not familiar with this) this is *extremely* rare. There is very little to gain by anyone trying "scam" this way, as the money sent through paypal / online can be held or reversed. As long as you are not sending cash or checks in the mail (which of course, you should never do, on any site, ever) you will be OK even in the extremely unlikely event that a seller does not deliver.

#5 How can I find out more details about the history of the vehicle?

If you look at the guide to buying online, you will see where you can see the posted information, as well as reports from companies like Carfax, and the links to contact the seller directly.

If you would like to do your own investigating, the VIN (vehicle ID number) should be included on the page (you might want to ask the seller if it is not there, and proceed with caution or avoid otherwise) which you can use to run your own investigation. A service like Experian Autocheck is highly recommended for their cheap and thorough service.

#6 Can a car be shipped to me?

In most cases yes, and there are direct links right on the auction page with pricing estimates from car shipping companies, as well as airfare lookup and driving directions to the location of the seller.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to Contact Us using the link at the bottom of the page.
